CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION

We thought it would be helpful to remind people of the process to book an appointment with a GP or ANP.  When you request an appointment you will first be given a telephone consultation with either a GP or Nurse Practitioner to discuss your problem. If during the phone consultation it is felt by the doctor or ANP that seeing you face to face will help with dealing with your problem you will be given a face to face appointment for further review.  Whilst we understand some patients prefer to be seen face to face for any medical problem what we have learned during Covid 19 is that many problems we see in general practice can be appropriately managed without needing to bring you into the surgery.

Accessing appointments in this way helps with controlling the spread of Covid 19 but importantly means patients are seen by the right person, at the right time and in the right way for their problem.  We recognise that some recent media coverage about NHS England may have added some anxiety and confusion around accessing GP services. We want to reassure all our patients that a face to face appointment will be available to you if we feel it is necessary.

The practice is working hard to ensure that everyone continues to have access to the best quality care during these unprecedented times.  Once again we thank you for your ongoing support and encourage you to make contact with the practice whenever you feel you have a health care need that needs attention.
