COVID 19 - SELF CERTIFICATION INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYEES

*Practice Update*

Due to the ongoing crisis with COVID-19, we are trying really hard to deal with as many of our patients' ailments as possible over the telephone. If you require medical assistance please do not hesitate to contact the surgery.

■ Our reception team are on the other end of the telephone Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and can direct you to the most appropriate place/person to deal with any queries you may have.

■ We can offer you a pre-bookable telephone appointment for any routine medical problem.

■ We also offer a triage telephone appointment system for urgent medical problems that need dealt with on the same day.

■ 'Near Me' is a video consultation facility that can be set up by the clinician if they feel they need to see you face to face.

■ We are still seeing patients in the surgery if they need essential wound care or blood tests in all our three sites.

■ We have adapted our waiting area and reception area to adhere to social distancing for the safety of our patients and our staff.

■ Repeat prescriptions - we are accepting repeat prescription requests over the telephone or by our online ordering system. If you need assistance with the online system please contact reception. Wigtown prescriptions will be delivered to Wigtown pharmacy as usual.

■ Kirkcowan surgery - we are still dispensing your medicines for you and we can also arrange for these to be delivered if you are a vulnerable patient and do not have anyone who can collect these safely - just telephone and speak to reception.

■ Routine chronic disease management - we are looking into supporting our patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, etc. during the crisis by telephone consultations with our practice nurse. If your review falls during this period she will telephone you and discuss a management plan with you.

**We do not want you to delay telephoning us if you require our help. We are here to help you in any way we can.**

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
